Many years ago I was a student midwife. It seems like a whole lifetime ago now. I met Katelyn's mum, Steph, while at uni. She was the same year I was and a wonderful example - studying full-time and a mum to 4 kids. Her and her family worked hard and supported each other through that time to help Steph achieve her goal.
So fast forward 6 years and Steph asked me to photograph Katelyn for her formal. I firstly couldn't believe that Katelyn was graduating! Secondly, I remembered back to those years of study and just knew that Katelyn had such a strongly role model in her mum that I knew that whatever she chose to do in the coming years that she'd be amazing at it. She's had determination, hard work, perseverance and support exampled to her. And also what it looks like to have it all pay off!
This is one tight family. That goes a long way in shaping a person.
