Have you ever stopped and really thought about pregnancy? Growing a whole new person? Their physical body will come earth-side whole and complete- all it needs to do is grow. They're little blank slates with a universe of knowledge to feast on, lessons to learn, experiences to grow from, contributions to make. And maybe one day they will help bring more little people into the world to make their mark too!
What an amazing privilege it is to be a parent and to help steward these tiny people.
I'm reminded of the wonder and awe of new tiny people every time I have the chance to photograph expectant mothers. These beautiful women have their own hopes and dreams for their baby, and the love and excitement for someone they haven't even met yet. I love it. It's truly a magnificent and fleeting season.
Hannah is my best friend. Her husband, Jaron, is my husbands best friend. We (my husband, Doug, and I) were there when Jaron met Hannah and would talk about this new girl he was interested in. We got to know Hannah and loved having a couple to hangout with. I clearly remember picking up takeaway Thai one night with Doug and Jaron, and Jaron shared how he was going to propose to Hannah! I helped Jaron execute his grand plan to secretly get Hannah to the proposal spot (my part could look a lot like a kidnapping but thats a whole other blog post lol). I've had the privilege of photographing their wedding, pregnancy and newborn photos for their heartbreakingly adorable Prudence, and now these. We can't wait to meet "Bubba" and watch him grow and make his mark on the world.
But for now, lets just appreciate how beautiful his Mumma is!
